Mr. Andrew James Brinkman
My writing stems from 2001 and a major loss to my life. I got deeply philosophical, and heavily creative, feeling inspired by an essay by Estrella Diego, entitled: ‘Going Without the Exotic’, under the Cesar Manrique Foundation publishing house, Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain. I had just come from Tenerife and had visited Lanzarote, my favourite island in the World, in 2002, and then suffered the distance of ill health in my father, who almost died, and who I can tell you thankfully survived. I made a number of book of “Right-On’s” (Joanna Newsom 2004) which at some point I would like to publish as raw creative talent, some of my best moments. I continued to pursue Architecture highly stressed by my environment and situation, continuing with writing in my spare time, including an exploration into art and drawing. I wrote my first serious batch of poems in 2014. I followed this up with a Masters in creative and Critical Writing at the University of Winchester, 2017. I was already a qualified Architect, from the Welsh School, at Cardiff University at the time, 2010. I have lived in Reading, Winchester, Cardiff, Tenerife, London and Portsmouth. I am a keen Architect, Writer, Reader, Artist, Photographer and Socialite.
